Privacy Policy for the Processing of Personal Data of Terapido's Clients / Customers
1. Introduction
1.1 This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) applies to terapido.com and terapido.dk. Terapido is owned and operated by Terapido ApS. The Privacy Policy is used when we process personal data about you as a customer.
1.2 Terapido is the data controller for the personal data that we process through our platform and systems. The therapists are independently responsible for the data they handle directly during therapy sessions.
1.3 Each therapist is independently the data controller for the processing of personal data they collect and process outside of Terapido’s platform in relation to the client. Terapido does not have access to such personal data. If a client wishes for their data to be deleted, Terapido can request the therapist to do so in accordance with the therapist's contract. However, Terapido does not assume responsibility for verifying or ensuring that the therapist actually deletes the information.

2. Definitions
2.1 “applicable data protection legislation” refers to the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation No. 2016/679), supplemented and implemented by Act No. 502 of May 23, 2018 (the Danish Data Protection Act), and related national legislation, as well as the European Parliament and Council Directive 2002/58/EC of July 12, 2002, concerning the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector (the E-Privacy Directive) and its national implementations.
2.2 “personal data” means any information about a natural person who can be directly or indirectly identified by an identifier such as a name, address, telephone number, or email address.
2.3 “processing” refers to any activity involving personal data, such as collection, organization, storage, deletion, or disclosure.
2.4 Terapido is the data controller and therefore determines the purposes and means of processing, naturally within the frames of the consent and applicable legislation.
3. Purpose of Data Collection
3.1 We collect and process the personal data you provide to us when you (a) book an appointment with one of our therapists or (b) subscribe to our newsletter. Our processing involves only general personal data. Below, you can see which personal data we process, as well as the purpose and legal basis for the processing:

4. Disclosure of Information to Freelance Practitioners
4.1 When you choose a practitioner through Terapido, we will disclose your personal data to the selected practitioner. This disclosure only takes place with your explicit consent, which you will be asked to provide upon registration or when selecting a practitioner. Disclosure of your information will only occur in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. This is specifically outlined in the practitioners' contracts with Terapido.
5. Declaration of Consent
5.1 To disclose your information to the practitioner you select, we must obtain your consent. By accepting this privacy policy and actively providing your consent, you declare the following:

- I give my explicit consent for Terapido to process and disclose my personal data to the chosen freelance practitioner in accordance with the following:
- Purpose: I understand that my information is disclosed to facilitate treatment with the selected practitioner.
- Categories of Information: The disclosed information includes my name, contact details, and relevant information about my treatment needs.
- Recipient: The information is only disclosed to the specific practitioner I have selected through Terapido.
- Independent Data Responsibility: I am informed that the selected practitioner is an independent data controller and therefore responsible for the processing of my information in connection with their services.
- Duration of Consent: I acknowledge that my consent remains valid as long as I am undergoing treatment with the selected practitioner or until I withdraw my consent.
- Withdrawal of Consent: I can withdraw my consent at any time by contacting Terapido at contact@terapido.dk. However, I am informed that withdrawal may affect my ability to continue treatment.
By clicking "I accept" or otherwise providing my active consent, I confirm that I have read and understood this declaration and agree to the processing and disclosure of my information as described.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this privacy policy or as required by law. The same applies to our IT providers, who act as data processors for us and process data solely according to our instructions. In all cases, Terapido retains control over the information.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you.
- Request the correction or deletion of your information.
- Restrict or object to the processing of your information.
- Transfer your information to another service provider (data portability).

8. Responding to Legal Requests and Preventing Harm
8.1 We may access, retain, and share your personal data that we have collected for legal purposes (e.g., search warrants, court orders, subpoenas, or similar), or, if necessary to detect, prevent, or address fraud or other illegal activities, protect ourselves, you, or other clients or therapists, in connection with an investigation.
9. Security and Protection
9.1 We have established and maintain appropriate organizational and technical measures to ensure that your personal data is not accidentally or unlawfully deleted, degraded, or lost, and that it does not come to the attention of unauthorized third parties or is otherwise misused or used in violation of applicable data protection legislation.

10. Notification of Changes to This Privacy Policy
10.1 If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you. If the changes require your consent, we will provide you with additional, separate notice under the circumstances and request your consent in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.
10.1.1 For editorial changes, we reserve the right not to notify all our users of the updates.
